Dj Spinna Presents The Post Disco Club Jams Boogie back

Year : 2009

Label : Bbe

Bbe strikes again. I'm seriously thinking that this label from Uk is one of the best for compilating Disco, Latin and in this case, Boogie. I bought the Vinyl Edition containing 3 Lp, but the Cd edition provides few more tracks, like Slyck or Captain Rapp for ex.

Spinna sera au Djoon le vendredi 12 février 2010 pour les parisiens.

Here's the tracklist (don't trust the Mixcloud playlist, it's not in the good order), here We go :
  1. Foxy - Tena's Song
  2. T.J Swan - And You Know That (Dub)
  3. Final Edition - Betcha Can't Love Just One (Can't Keep Running Away)
  4. Masurrati And Huey Harris - Super Duper Lovin, Don't Stop
  5. War - The World Is A Ghetto (special Disco Mix)
  6. Community People - Education Wrap (Dj Spinna Edit)
  7. Ronnie Dyson - All Over My Face (Special J & M Mix)
  8. Stargaze - You Can't Have It
  9. Jan Leslie Holmes - I'm Your Superman
  10. Slyck - Love It (or beat the Bush)
  11. Eddy Rosemond - Funk It (Wake Up And Move)

Ashford And Simpson - Stay Free (Lp) # 36

Year : 1979

Label : Warner Bros. Records

Written and produced by Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson
"Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar". After they wrote for all the Motown band, they released Stay Free in 79, a very classy disco album far away from the commercial Dance. love those two, and I still think they didn't get all the recognition they deserved.

Only Disco there, with the classic Found A cure (remixed by Dimitri from paris) and Nobody knows. Don't Miss Stay Free, a killer track big Loft Classic by David Mancuso. Enjoy!

A1 Found A Cure

B1 Nobody knows
B2 Crazy
B3 Finally Got to Me
B4 Follw Your Heart

The More I Get, The More I Want

thanks to Skiny from Hiphop Killerz, I can Share with you some great cover of the same title. We start by the fantastic The More I Get, The More I Want, written by the duo mcFadden and Whitehead. I think Teddy Pendergrass sang the song first, but Lorraine Johnson also released this title in 77, More Disco, On Prelude records.

There is also a 12" of the lorraine Johnson cover, but it's one of the rarest. Hard to find! A special Bootleg was released back in the days, I hope to share it With you one day.

This Tracks was sampled as usual, to name few :
K.W.S -The More I Get, The More I Want (listen)
Also sampled for the Disco diamond 5 (white Label) and there is a killer version by East Side Connection in 1996, But I wait To find the vinyl to share it. At the end, a cover By Double Dee, but only 90's sound. Enjoy Teddy and Lorraine!
